Number two: Narcissists will withhold s.e.x from a partner as part of the devalue cycle.
This is almost always part of the devalue stage. Nothing gets the message across to a partner that they aren’t worthy or desirable more than rejecting them s.e.xually. Narcissists know that by doing this, you will become consumed with getting the loving, wonderful version of them back that you had in the beginning. And that is incredibly important to the narcissist, as they are conditioning you to become preoccupied with their needs, wants, and desires, and to think of yourself less and less. Again, this is about gaining control and power over their partner.
Number three: They enjoy seeing you frustrated and confused.
Unfortunately, having the power to upset you, confuse you, and hurt you is narcissistic supply for a narcissist. Narcissistic supply is the drug they are addicted to. You must remember that narcissistic supply, in its simplest form, is the attention of others that makes them feel special.
While narcissists typically prefer positive narcissistic supply from a target in the form of love, praise, and adoration, when they are bored of that, they unfortunately enjoy extracting supply out of a victim in the form of hurt, confusion, frustration, and even anger, because that is still your attention that makes them feel special. If they hold the power to hurt you and humiliate you by rejecting you, that does indeed make them feel powerful and special.
