So, instead of celebrating your achievements or sharing in your excitement when things are going well, they will be the party poopers who are angry or irate for whatever reason. They may even be dismissive of you and downright miserable around you because you are doing better than they are. They may also choose to be in a depressive state or act unwell just to avoid sharing in your excitement.
The fourth one is gossiping or defamation. When someone envies you, they are likely to slander you. Spreading bad things about someone who is doing well makes a narcissist feel better about themselves. Because if they can discredit you and get others to not be impressed with you, then it presents a chance for them, the narcissist, to shine and be looked upon more favorably. The fifth way narcissists reveal their envy is by minimizing your achievements by refusing to validate them. So, no matter what you manage to accomplish, it will never be good enough for the Narcissist.
They will never congratulate or give you credit, as they want you to feel that what you have gained or accomplished is insignificant. Instead, there will just be constant criticism about what you didn’t do or could do better. They are trying to crush your spirit, your dreams, and your self-worth by refusing to validate your accomplishments.
