What To Expect When The Narcissist Knows You Know What They Are

Number six: if the love bombing, gaslighting, projection, leveling, and blackmail do not work, then they will start a nasty smear campaign against you. They will try to destroy your good name and your reputation so severely that if you were to tell anyone about these new ideas you have about who and what they are, then they will see to it that no one believes you. Smear campaigns are nearly always present at the end of a relationship with a narcissist, unfortunately.

So, if you’re living through a smear campaign, my heart goes out to you. I have lived through some of the most disgusting smear campaigns you could possibly imagine. Try not to let it get you down; stay strong; don’t sink to the narcissist’s level; and know that in time, the narcissist’s and your true characters will be exposed for exactly who each of you are. Remember, you don’t always have to tell your side of the story, because time will show that the truth will always come to light.

In closing, I just want to say that it is never a good idea for you to tell a narcissist that you know what they are.
