However, this is a major issue for narcissists. because they want to think that everything they have to say is important, valid, and should just be accepted. So, when you challenge them and blatantly disagree with them, it not only throws them off, but it properly annoys them. It’s like, how dare you challenge me? And this can be done with just about anything. Even when it comes down to their opinion of others. They want you to accept and agree with what they have to say about other people. They want you to think of people and see people the way they do. They want you to agree and go along with their stupid ideas and opinions. They want you to believe everything they tell you.
Narcissists want people around them who will just agree with everything they say. They want people who will listen to their every word and not question their beliefs. This is why the narcissist is so concerned that people believe their phony image and are smitten by their charm so that they do not question anything the narcissist says. In addition, narcissists tend to be really good talkers and are really good at wordplay and double-speak. But this is why you should question everything, or tell them you will need to think about it more, but never just accept or go along with what a narcissist says or wants. Yes, they will get frustrated with you. They will want to end the conversation or change the topic.
