How frustrating is it to watch a narcissist skate through life, hurting other people without any real consequences or care in the world? It’s pretty frustrating. Even though narcissists seem untouchable and it seems like they are never getting what’s coming to them, never getting their karma, some things do hurt a narcissist, and that’s exactly what we’re talking about today.
But I want to be clear: I’m not talking about revenge here. Revenge is rarely a good idea. It’s very difficult to get revenge without getting your hands dirty, and even if you do get away with it, you know that you’re not walking away with a clear conscience. If they’re telling you they’re hurting, more often than not, they’re trying to manipulate you.
So, the first thing you’ll notice when a narcissist is hurt is that they will retaliate. And this is another reason why I don’t recommend actively going for revenge because you’re starting a battle, and where does it end? But I can tell you that if you did not hurt their fragile ego, they would not bother retaliating. There’s always going to be something in it for them, and in this case, it’s revenge.
