The second sign the Narcissist does not love you is their lack of respect.
It does not matter who you are to the Narcissist; they respect no one. They may have reasons to be afraid of someone, but they still respect no one. They do not care how their words and actions affect others; they only care about their image and reputation. They disregard your time, boundaries, and everything concerning you. Some Narcissists can be more blatantly disrespectful by talking down to you, patronizing you, and being dismissive. But above all, the slander and gossip they spread about you behind your back are clear signs that they do not love or respect you.
The third sign that the Narcissist does not love you is their abusive behavior, whether it is physical, verbal, or emotional abuse.
If they truly loved you, they would not want to hurt you, but Narcissists actually enjoy inflicting pain and causing distress. Their objective is to break you down, and someone who loves you would never do that. Who would take pleasure in your pain and confusion, and desire to be the author of that pain and confusion? The Narcissist does because it confirms the control they have over you, and control is all that matters to them.
The fourth sign that the Narcissist does not love you is their lack of empathy.
Narcissists do not care when you face misfortune or are sick. It actually bothers them because it means you are not able to serve them or be available to them the way they desire. They do not care when someone offends or hurts you. The Narcissist has no compassion; any empathy they display is only feigned for their benefit. Narcissists can only pity themselves and expect you to pour all your empathy into them while they give you nothing in return. They are cold, dark, and bitter inside, and that is all they have to offer you – no love, just bitterness and hate.
