They are some of the most selfish people you will ever meet. They know only how to use people for their advantage. As a result, many outsiders do not come to see the Covert Narcissist for the fake, hateful, selfish, judgmental being that they really are.
And the Narcissist will without guilt absorb all the attention, compliments and praise when they despise the very same people who offer it to them. Because all that matters to the Covert Narcissist is that they are viewed positively. It is important that they have the admiration and adoration of the masses. Your reputation and image become something they can destroy in order to improve theirs. This is why we have to steer clear of Narcissists. By doing this we Protect our peace, our health and our sanity.
