One thing a narcissist will always do in your absence
Let’s take a closer look at what’s going on here. Firstly, narcissists have no respect for the feelings of those around them, which is why they cheat. They’ll act as if you don’t exist once you leave their company. They find it easy to neglect you, take advantage of you, and then discard you when you no longer bring value. They’ll have no problem scamming you as if they were never close to you.
Not to mention, narcissists are generally dishonest, so this comes as no surprise when it comes to infidelity. The covetous nature of narcissists plays a large role in this. Even if things appear to be going well between you and them, they’ll still be looking for a way to gain something extra from others that you can’t supply. They think they’re entitled to anything they can get their hands on, regardless of how much they already have.
Another reason is that they simply grow tired of having a good relationship with you. They can’t tune in on calm waters and can’t settle into one emotional state for too long. Essentially, they become conflicted. Because there are no longer any obstacles to overcome in the relationship, they soon become bored. Seeing the same person repeatedly wears them out.
In order to keep themselves occupied while simultaneously increasing their supply, narcissists will look for and secure new sources of supply. The choices they make may surprise you; there’s often no one better than you that the narcissist has their eyes on at any one time. You may find that their affair is no better than you in terms of attributes, outlooks, and attitudes.
You might wonder why they would cheat on you with someone like this when they have a better relationship with you. It’s not about you or their current relationship; it’s about the narcissist. No matter what you think, you will not be able to grasp the whole situation.
