Narcissists were once gifted souls too. Yes, you heard me right. And before you ask, “What are you even talking about?” just hear me out for a moment. The manipulative, self-absorbed, and often destructive individuals we know today were once endowed with immense potential, intelligence, and even spiritual gifts. But somewhere along the way, something went terribly wrong.
Exploring the Spiritual Roots of Narcissism
To truly understand this, we have to look beyond the psychology of narcissism and step into the spiritual realm to explore the spiritual roots of this problem. No doubt, many narcissists possess high intelligence, charisma, and creativity. They have the potential to achieve great things, which is why many people stay—they hold onto that potential, waiting for it to manifest into reality. They have the capability to inspire, to lead, to create. But somewhere along the way, they make a choice: a choice to prioritize their own ego above all else, just like Satan, just like Iblis. That is where everything goes wrong.
Once they let their pride and self-worship consume them, they stop serving the divine will. Their soul turns inward, serving only itself, which is why they experience what I call spiritual starvation. They become stuck in a cycle of seeking fulfillment and satisfaction, but they never find it because they remain eternally disconnected from their true self, their true nature.
