In this article, we propose 7-morning habits that will help you improve your productivity for the rest of the day.
If you think you won’t be able to do this routine for a long time, don’t worry, try it for 30 days and you’ll see that you won’t want to go back to your previous routine – go ahead, we’ll start with point number one!
1. Wake up 20 minutes early
It has been proven that a person’s performance is much higher in the morning than at night. Although it may be hard at first, it is better to wake up every morning 20 or 30 minutes earlier, even if it means going to bed earlier.
These 20 minutes can generate a great performance if they are used effectively: you will activate your body and your mind, have a more productive day, and be a little happier. You will do a little exercise, meditate on the day’s objectives, and enjoy breakfast properly.
The University of Toronto conducted a study in 2013 published by the magazine Emotion that revealed that early risers report higher levels of satisfaction, well-being, and productivity. This is because their biological clock adapts faster to subsequent social activities.
2. Wake up with music
The morning is the part of the day in which our organism is more predisposed to the stimulation of our environment, which is why mornings are a good time to meditate, reflect, and listen to music. Many studies reveal that listening to music has great benefits in our personal development.
Waking up every morning to music enhances abstract reasoning, improves learning ability, and reduces anxiety. Almost all musical styles provide these benefits, but instrumental and classical music is the most widely supported by studies at universities around the world.
3. Make your bed every day
Although it may seem trivial, making the bed every day is a very beneficial habit that can help us improve productivity. Mothers aren’t the only ones who think so, the military attests to this, and it’s the first thing they do every morning.
And this makes logical sense, and that’s how Admiral Craven (U.S. Navy) explained it at the University of Texas:
If you make your bed every day, you’ll be waking up continually with a task accomplished. This gives you a small sense of pride that will push you to do the next task and the one after that.
You will see how a small completed task will have turned into many completed tasks. Plus, making the bed reinforces the fact that the little things matter too.
4. Prepare the clothes you are going to wear the night before
One of the most common factors that make people procrastinate in the morning does not know what they are going to wear that day. It makes us stay in bed longer than necessary, wandering around and thinking about what we are going to wear. For this reason, it is very important to prepare your clothes the night before. You will wake up and have no excuse to get dressed and start the morning with energy.
5. Get some exercise
If you get your body used to doing a little exercise every morning, your body will get used to being activated and ready for the day before the alarm clock rings. This is a key habit to improve productivity.
You will have a less traumatic and more energetic awakening. The hormones will have prepared themselves for the blood regulation and the pumping of the heart, this way we will also avoid cardiac complications.

6. Relax and meditate on the day’s tasks
After you’ve had a little exercise, take 10 minutes to relax and think about the tasks you need to do throughout the day.

7. Do not turn on your cell phone until after you have showered, dressed, and had breakfast
You are ready to face a new day. You can turn on your cell phone and start your routine. You notice you are fresher, more energetic, and eager to eat the world. Do not turn on your phone until this moment, as it is a source of distraction that will make you forget your goal.
Do not forget that you have already completed the first tasks of the day, now it is only a matter of continuing to complete tasks, at the end of the day you will realize how productive you have been.
